2024 King Scholars Scholarship at Dartmouth College—Fully Funded

Applications are now being accepted from international students for the 2024 King Scholars Scholarship at Dartmouth College. The King Scholar Program prepares today’s young scholars from developing countries to be tomorrow’s leaders in alleviating global poverty.

The King Scholars Program seeks low-income students from developing nations who are interested in alleviating poverty in their home countries. At Dartmouth, King Scholars receive 4-year scholarships and extensive mentoring and leadership training. Upon graduation, they return home to tackle poverty issues, supported by Dartmouth’s alumni network.

Dartmouth College, founded in 1769, educates the most promising students and prepares them for a lifetime of learning and of responsible leadership through a faculty dedicated to teaching and the creation of knowledge. Over 40 departments and programs constitute Dartmouth’s liberal arts core, which promotes critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among our students. The liberal arts imperative informs every field of study and crosses departments, programs, and schools. Our students learn to ask bigger questions and apply more perspectives to the answers. They gain a deeper understanding of humanity and a broader view of what’s at stake for societies and throughout the world.

Eligible candidates must be:

  • Involved in their communities
  • Passionate about creating positive change
  • Interested in alleviating poverty in their own countries
  • Capable of succeeding at a top U.S. university
  • Driven to succeed in whatever they do
  • Proficient in English

  • King Scholars receive pre-orientation support and mentoring services to help with the transition to college and ongoing academic mentoring throughout their Dartmouth careers.
  • All King Scholars are part of the First Year Student Enrichment Program, an intensive experience that prepares students to handle many of the challenges they will face during the course of their first year.
  • They are also part of a supportive and close-knit community of fellow Scholars and students.

  • Secondary School Report with Transcript, School Profile and Counselor Evaluation
  • Two Teacher Evaluations
  • TOEFL or IELTS or the Duolingo English Test for students whose first language is not English
