University of Ottawa Scholarship for International Students—Canada 2024

The University of Ottawa, Canada, has announced an Entrance and Excellence scholarships for international students in selected programs in 5 faculties. The student body at the University of Ottawa takes great pride in its international diversity and commitment to inclusivity. Thus, when enrolled in any of the qualified undergraduate programs provided in English, overseas students from selected nations will start to get hefty reductions in their tuition fees starting in the fall 2024 term.

Eligibility Criteria for the scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicant must:

  1. Be a citizen of any country in Africa or one of the countries listed
  2. Be newly admitted in the fall 2024 term in one of the eligible undergraduate programs offered in English in one of the faculties listed
  3. Not enroll in the French immersion stream
  4. Have a valid study permit when classes start
  5. Be enrolled full time.

NOTE: Canadian citizen with dual citizenship (Canada and another country) are not eligible since they already qualify for Canadian tuition rates

Selection Criteria

  • Excellence Scholarships are awarded through a competitive process among the top candidates with an admission average of 90% or higher who apply for admission by April, 2024, and whose admission has been processed by April 15, 2024.
  • Candidates whose first choice is the University of Ottawa will be favoured.
  • Recipients must start their program in September

Excellence scholarship: $70,000 over 4 years ($17,500 per year)

6. Hefty Reduction in tuition fees

7. A minimum of $20,000 and a maximum of $100,000 over 4 years depending on the admission average and faculty

8. Scholarship can be renewed for up to 12 terms

Conditions for Keeping the Scholarship

  • Maintain full-time enrolment in the undergraduate program in which the student was admitted and enrolled
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.0 or higher at the end of the academic year for International English Entrance Scholarship, and a grade point average (CGPA) of 8.0 or higher for International English Excellence Scholarship.
