A – FORKLIFT MECHANIC/AUTO ELECTRICIAN
About this role
Success candidate will be a full-time forklift serviceman that is eager to learn, develop new skills, and pursue a career in the field. Beginning as a Field serviceman, the work will involve doing routine maintenance on a wide variety of internal combustion and electrical forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine Field Service, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
- Interpret manufacturer’s technical manuals to perform the necessary scheduled maintenance tasks and repairs needed.
- Ability to learn to troubleshoot forklift problems including brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, and detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues, and/or malfunctions.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to test & repair faults
- Ability to learn to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.
- Ability to learn how to diagnose and repair LPG, electrical, and diesel systems.
- Ability to tune and adjust LPG, electrical, and diesel systems.
- Ability to repair & replace ignition systems
- Ability to identify and replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or identify replacement parts for major repairs.
- Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor.
- Ability to dismantle and remove electrical and electronic assemblies and components
- Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.
- Maintain an organized and neat work area.
- Ability to install electrical components & accessories to forklifts
- Competent to complete electronic service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks.
- Willing to Learn and grow as new technical information and techniques are released to stay current with changing technology.
Requirements
Interested applicants must meet the following:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role with technical and mechanical knowledge.
- Electromechanical, automotive, and electrical trade qualifications are preferred.
- Willingness to learn good servicing technics to perform Preventative Maintenance on all Makes and Models of forklifts in the market.
- A solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn from very experienced tradesmen.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screen.
- Able to work safely and follow company rules and procedures.
- Forklift repair experience is desirable but not necessary.

- Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products in a specialized field.
- Mentors and trains Service Technician Apprentices
- Conducts or supports customer clinics
- Conducts optimization of machinery for customers
- Maintains current knowledge of Ag vehicle/equipment
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties
- Performs diagnosis and repairs in the field and shed
Requirements
Interested applicants must meet the following:
- 3-5+ years of experience performing service repairs after qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Trade Certificate Technical Qualifications
- Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician’s expertise
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Excellent ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Master Level Service Technician certification essential (but not a requirement)
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Drivers License) and fork lift license preferred
